Head em up and move em out. Hitting the road we had to take the alternate route as the train was blocking the drive.
Stopped at Mt. Airy and the Snappy Lunch for our usual pork chop sandwich. Yes its worth the hour detour to get one. A traveling companion of mine had the breaded hamburger and thought it to was awesome.
Hit the old fashioned candy shop and then the road again.
Finally arrived at our destination. Now it's a couple of days of food, tv and Hulu.

Attack of the T-rex
6:20 a.m. rolls around and I am awakened to the sounds of Jurassic park. Sleeping 50 feet from an active train track and an operating coal mine isn't quite. A train has arrived to be loaded and the horrible sounds it makes is enough to wake the dead. It roared and clanged, shrieked and rattled. It sounds like herd of dinosaurs. Then it let out this sound like an electric lightening whip. So much for sleeping in. I laid there for a little time and listened to the hum and grunt of the loaders before deciding it was time for coffee.
Night in a coal mining town
As I travel the dark winding roads through the West Virginia mountains I wonder how I got myself into this. I'll be staying in a mining town right next to the coal mine. The houses are the originals from way back when the company owned everything from the land and the houses to the food you ate and the clothes you wore. From the time that the companies paid you in coal mine money and over charged you to keep you owing more than you made so you could never leave.
We pull in around 11 p.m. and arouse the owner of the little mobile home that will be staying at. I am then informed that we should remove all valuables, lock the doors and set the alarm as well as turn the vehicle so the gas tank is facing the house. It seems that this area has gone way down hill and there is a lot of crime.
After a few minutes of visiting and settling in I hit the sack. Tired from work and a long day of driving I climb into the antique bed that I almost need a stool for fall asleep.
